First of all, I would like to apologize for the sporadic updates — college and midterms have been taking up a lot of my time to the point where I am far behind on baseball news. But fear not! I will try my best to post more often now.
Now onto the news.
Andrew Baggarly tweeted that Bruce Bochy said that Matt Cain was fine coming out of his bullpen session and will throw a simulated game on Thursday.
Baggarly also tweeted that Eli Whiteside has said that his elbow is fine and that he is throwing to bases. There is a possibility he may start in a Spring Training game on Thursday.
Buster Posey signed a contract worth $575, 000. He is one of the 19 players with 0-3 years MLB time to have signed contracts, according to Hank Schulman. Pablo Sandoval was one of the players, while Madison Bumgarner was not.
And everyone can relax — Posey is under team control until 2016. The 2010 NL Rookie of the Year won’t be going anywhere for a while.
Last but not least, the Giants lost to the Seattle Mariners today, 1-0. They were limited to four hits, with Darren Ford, Aubrey Huff, Nate Schierholtz, and Mike Fontenot being the ones getting the hits. Ryan Vogelsong went 3 and 2/3 innings, giving up 2 hits and 1 earned run, while walking 3 and striking out 5.
