Post-game Recap: A Win Is A Win, Of Course, Of Course

A blown call nearly cost the Giants the game. That is, if you are a pessimist and believe the Giants could never find the offense to score more than 2 runs.

The offense came back soon after in the 4th inning. Cody Ross walked, followed by an Aaron Rowand double. Rookie Brandon Crawford followed that with a base hit, driving in the go-ahead run.

Look! A wild offense appears!

But that’s not all for the runs being scored. Crawford stole second after Eli Whiteside struck out. Pitcher Madison Bumgarner walked on a full count. Bases loaded for Andres Torres. The result? “BOOOOOOOOM! as David B. Flemming said.

The rest of the game went rather swimmingly, sans the late inning home run to Albert Pujols. And hey, even Sergio Romo pitched! Sure, it was with a 4-run lead, but it’s better than nothing at this point.

  1. The Giants, I believe, are 2-0 in games in which they hit a grand slam this season. Ergo, as long as they hit a grand slam every game, nothing can go wrong! Science!

Erm…in other news, good to see Romo out there, at a semi-important time. As long as Bochy doesn’t start running him out there to mop up innings when we’re down by 302598 runs I’m good. Also, how crazy is it that his outing today *hurt his stats*? Oh no! God forbid he only strike out one batter in an inning! DFA! I’m sure his xFIP imploded too…
