Can we forget that game ever happened?
Tim Lincecum was less than stellar today, not even pitching to the minimum. He went 4 innings, giving up 7 earned runs, 7 hits, 4 walks, and only struck out 1. Sadly, that was his career low when it comes to strikeouts in a game.
The offense was being their usual lack-of-offense offensive selves by waiting until the 9th inning to score runs. But even then, it wasn’t enough to tie up the game. Then again, it wasn’t a close game at all and not even a 2-run homer by the found-to-still-exist Pat Burrell could make it a close game.
There was nothing completely redeeming about this game for the Giants. Just an ugly loss in the books — and one that fans and the players would probably like to forget.
