Where was this team two months ago? With a 3-1 win over San Diego this afternoon, the Giants swept the Padres series.
It would seem that the AT&T gods were trying to convince Carlos Beltran to re-sign with the team after this season, sending two of his shots over the right field wall, including a splash hit to mark his 300th career homerun.
Mark DeRosa continued his resurgence, singling pinch runner Andres Torres home for an insurance run in the 7th inning.
Tim Lincecum pitched magnificently, allowing just one run in the 1st inning and a total of 4 hits and 2 walks, while striking out 6 to record the win. Sergio Romo continues to amaze, pitching one inning while still refusing to allow anyone on base. Romo’s scoreless streak is now at a career-high 19.1 innings.
Up next: The Giants travel to Colorado for a 4 game series. Prediction: Dinger will be annoying.
