Wilson Has “Structural Issues” With Elbow, Possible Surgery

Sigh. Here we go again.

Welp, just when we thought we might survive without any soul crushing injuries this season, despite the string of bumps, bruises, and a case of the shingles that have already sprung up, here we are. Brian Wilson is looking at elbow surgery, which would likely be season ending.

Wilson has already had Tommy John surgery once, in 2003 while at LSU. It is not entirely unheard of for pitchers to successfully rehab from a second surgery, but it certainly adds to the degree of difficulty.

Presumably Wilson will officially be placed on the DL tomorrow to allow Ryan Vogelsong to be made active to make his first start of the season.
