A Very Thankful Giants Season

(Photo: flickr/thisreidwrites)

It’s been a good year to be a Giants fan, obviously. While we all have our own personal reasons to be thankful, here is what the Third Street Kings crew have to be thankful for with this season.

  • Matt Cain.
  • Buster Posey’s general existence.
  • Sergio Romo’s no-dot slider.
  • George Kontos’ slider.
  • Rev. Pence.
  • Madison Bumgarner’s home run.
  • Ryan Vogelsong constantly telling people’s expectations to suck it.
  • Buster Posey.
  • Santiago Casilla at-bats.
  • A team that never gave up in elimination games.
  • Buster Posey.
  • Dave and Jon and Kruk and Kuip
  • Gangnam Styling at the Civic Center with confetti flying around in the air.
  • Matt Cain.

  • Buster Posey. Buster Posey. Buster Posey. More importantly, that he’s healthy and whole and better than any of us expected in our most feverish fangirl dreams.
  • Not being Dodger fans.
  • Matt Cain and Madison Bumgarner being Giants for many years to come.
  • Buster Posey.
  • Mays and McCovey just hangin’ around ’cause they can. (And also then doing things like giving Angel Pagan a bit of coaching on over the shoulder basket catches.)
  • Best ballpark in the world. Errbody else can shut up, they’re wrong if they disagree.
  • Buster Posey.
  • Dave Righetti the pitcher whisperer.
  • Buster Posey.
  • And in conclusion, Buster Posey.

Reuben: Dave & Jon & Kruk & Kuip; Alex Pavlovic’s net-savvy excellence; the rich history of the Giants org; Gangnam style; everything that that clown from the Detroit Free Press complained about (Irish coffee, build-a-bear, etc)

  • Buster Posey.
  • Matt Cain.
  • Matt Cain’s perfect game.
  • Sergio Romo.
  • Marco Scutaro in the rain.
  • The Giants winning the WS again so that I can replace my lost 2010 WS cap, since that particular style is apparently only made for championship teams (true story).
  • Brandon Belt discovering twitter.
  • Barry Zito getting to play in the World Series.
  • A belated entry: Burriss finally getting cut from the roster. This time for sure!
